Purpose
Berean Biblical Counseling Ministries exists to equip Christians to honor God in all of life’s circumstances and to help others do the same. We are an ACBC (Association of Certified Biblical Counselors) Training Center in New Bern serving the eastern North Carolina area, and we seek to assist believers throughout the process of ACBC certification. We also provide continuing education and support to biblical counselors, and we provide biblical counsel to those who need help and encouragement in solving life’s problems God’s way.
Our Counseling Philosophy
We believe that God’s wisdom in His Word is sufficient to teach us how to think about and respond to every life problem in a way that pleases God.
Because of sin and life in a fallen world, man’s relationship with God and others has been impacted, leading to significant personal and relational problems.
However, because of Jesus Christ, our lives can be redeemed, and through the truth of Scripture, our problems in living can be addressed so that we grow in conformity to Christ and our capacity to enjoy Him forever.
A Biblical Approach
Our counseling ministry is an extension of Berean Community Church, with the goal of seeing lasting heart change through the truth of God’s Word and the ministry of His Spirit. We address both outward behavior and inward desires through the wisdom God has provided in Scripture, guiding individuals toward repentance, faith, and practical steps for a transformed life.
Certified Training Center
Our biblical counselors are certified by or pursuing certification through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), ensuring they meet rigorous standards of biblical wisdom, care, and integrity. As an ACBC Certified Training Center, Berean Biblical Counseling Ministries seeks to equip others to provide faithful, Scripture-based truth for living.
